LIFE AT NURSERY
LIFE AT NURSERY
Making Nursery Feel Like Family.
At Foundation Nurseries, we believe every child deserves to feel happy, safe, valued and supported. We provide a warm, nurturing and inclusive environment where children can build friendships, develop confidence and discover the world around them. Through meaningful experiences, learning through play and strong partnerships with families, we lay the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY
Building skills, confidence and a love of learning.
Our curriculum is carefully planned around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), providing children with a rich variety of opportunities to learn, explore and develop across all seven areas of learning and development.
Our key person system helps us build close, trusting relationships with every child and get to know their individual needs, interests, strengths and stages of development. By observing children as they play, learn and explore, we identify their next steps and plan meaningful experiences that build on what they already know and can do, helping every child make progress at their own pace.
We want children to leave us with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for their next stage of learning, alongside a natural curiosity, a passion for learning and the independence to embrace new challenges.
A SAFE, NURTURING AND INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT
Every child belongs. Every child matters.
We take the time to get to know every child as an individual, building trusting relationships that help them feel secure, confident and ready to learn. We celebrate differences, promote equality and inclusion, and encourage children to be kind, respectful and accepting of others.
We provide opportunities for children to experience different cultures, backgrounds and perspectives, helping them develop an understanding of the world and the people in it. We recognise that every child develops differently and are committed to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). By making appropriate adaptations to our environment, routines and learning experiences, and working in partnership with families and other professionals where needed, we help every child access learning, participate fully and reach their potential.

DEVELOPING LIFE SKILLS
Growing independence, resilience and confidence.
Learning goes far beyond the activities we plan. Everyday experiences help children develop essential life skills, from communicating their needs and forming friendships to sharing, taking turns, problem-solving and managing their feelings.
We encourage children to make choices, try things for themselves, care for their belongings and develop independence in everyday routines. By celebrating effort and achievements, we help children become confident, resilient individuals who are ready to take their next steps.
OUR TEAM, ALWAYS LEARNING
Caring professionals who help children flourish.
Our friendly, dedicated team is at the heart of everything we do. Our staff are trained and supported to provide high-quality care, safeguard children and create engaging learning experiences that meet their individual needs. We are committed to continually developing our knowledge and practice through training, reflection and working together as a team. This helps us keep improving the experiences we offer and ensures children receive the care, encouragement and support they deserve.

FOOD & MEALTIMES
Healthy choices, happy mealtimes.
We encourage healthy eating and help children develop positive relationships with food from an early age. We offer a variety of nutritious foods and opportunities to explore different tastes and textures, supporting children to develop healthy habits and greater independence.
Mealtimes are an important social part of the nursery day. Sitting together, talking with friends and enjoying food in a relaxed, supportive environment helps children develop communication skills, confidence and positive social interactions. We work in partnership with parents to understand individual dietary needs and support children’s health, wellbeing and nutrition.
WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS
Working together to help every child thrive.
We believe the best outcomes happen when nursery and home work together. Parents know their children best, and your knowledge, experiences and insights are an important part of your child’s learning journey.
Through our nursery app, we keep you informed about your child’s experiences, progress and achievements. Communication is a two-way partnership: parents can contact our team, share updates from home and contribute observations about their child’s learning and development. By sharing information and celebrating progress together, we build a fuller picture of each child and provide consistent support between home and nursery.
