At Foundation Nurseries, we pride ourselves on being friendly, approachable and supportive. From your first enquiry and understanding your childcare and funding options to settling in and beyond, our team is here to help. SETTLING IN
A gentle start, at your child’s pace.
Starting nursery is a big milestone for children and parents, and we want the experience to feel as comfortable and positive as possible. We invite you to join your child for an initial settling-in session, giving you both the opportunity to explore the room, meet the team and become familiar with the environment.
This first visit allows you to ask questions, share important information about your child and begin building relationships with the staff who will care for them. It also gives our team the opportunity to start getting to know your child and building a trusting bond.
Every child is different, so we take a flexible, individual approach to settling in. We work closely with you, responding to your child’s needs and cues and allowing time for additional visits or a gradual transition where needed. Our priority is to help your child feel safe, secure and happy as they begin their nursery journey.
GETTING TO KNOW YOUR CHILD
Building familiar faces and trusting relationships.
Our key person and secondary key person system helps your child build secure relationships with familiar adults who understand them as individuals. We take time to learn about your child’s interests, personality, routines, strengths and individual needs so we can provide the right care, encouragement and learning opportunities.
By working closely with you and sharing information between home and nursery, we can help your child feel understood, supported and confident to explore, learn and develop.
KEEPING IN TOUCH
Sharing special moments and celebrating progress.
We use the Famly app to help keep you connected with your child’s nursery experience. Through the app, we share observations, learning experiences, achievements and special moments, giving you a window into your child’s day.
Communication is a two-way partnership. You can message our team, share updates from home and contribute your own observations about your child’s learning and development. By sharing experiences and ideas, we can work together to support your child’s progress and help make learning meaningful both at nursery and at home.
SUPPORTING EVERY CHILD
Inclusive care, tailored to individual needs.
Every child is unique, and we are committed to ensuring that every child feels welcome, included and able to participate in nursery life. We work in partnership with parents to understand each child’s individual needs, including any special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) or additional support they may require.
Where needed, we make appropriate adaptations to our environment, routines, resources and learning experiences to help children access learning, build relationships and make progress. We work closely with families and, where appropriate, other professionals to identify effective strategies and provide consistent support.
We celebrate each child’s strengths and achievements, recognising that children develop in different ways and at different rates. Our aim is to help every child feel valued, develop confidence and reach their full potential.
