Affordable and outstanding childcare in Ilford for children aged 2 to 5 years old

Foundation Nurseries, through fun and engaging activities, aims to create independence, and a love for learning, in all of our children. We believe children learn best when they are able to play and explore in a safe and happy environment.

Our Ilford nursery offers child care for children from two to five years old and provides nurturing environments which are tailored to the needs and interests of the children. Through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning areas and developments; characteristics of learning and the children’s interests we create an exciting curriculum which supports our children in their development. We create our activities based on the play styles our children prefer as well as creating new experiences for them. Using regular exercise; healthy meals and snacks; EYFS areas of learning and a friendly, warm approach from staff, we support the well-being of our children.

Our Curriculum

Here at Foundation Nurseries, we offer a play-based day with hidden learning!

We provide well-planned experiences indoors and outdoors based on each individual child’s interests. Our staff team will support all children to learn with enjoyment and challenge, having a balance of child initiated and adult led play-based activities.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which is a statutory framework, covering learning and development from the day your child is born until the end of their first year at school. Our Nursery provides all children with a firm foundation on which to build future academic, social and emotional success. We do this by ensuring the Early Years Foundation Stage themes are embedded in all aspects of what we do.

The four guiding principles are as follows:

Unique Child
Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured;

Positive Relationships
Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships;

Enabling Environments

Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers; and

Learning and Development

Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. The framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Our routines, activities and nursery environments are designed to enhance these areas, offering them opportunities to play and practice their growing skills, ensuring that every child has an opportunity to learn and develop at a pace that is suitable to them.

We observe, assess and plan your children in each of these areas, allowing us to provide a variety of learning experiences that are not only of interest to them, but building on what they already know!

Practitioners will observe your child on a regular basis to identify and assess the progress they are making – regardless of your child’s age or their attendance pattern at nursery. Observations help practitioners to decide where the children are in their learning and development and to plan what to do next.

Foundation Nurseries uses a bespoke online profiling platform that captures key moments of children's leaning and development during their time at nursery. It is a secure platform which parents and carers can access with a secure password. Practitioners record significant moments through a photograph or video and then write a comment to explain what is happening. You can access the bespoke online platform via the app or via a tablet or PC which will provide you with an update of your child’s day/overall progress. Parents are encouraged to record home learning moments to share back or write a feedback comment to their practitioner. This creates a lovely dialogue between home learning and the Foundation Nursery experience.
